Cut your electricity bills with a home solar system from an MCS-certified installer. We design and fit solar panels and battery storage for homes across London, Essex, Kent, Surrey and Hertfordshire, so you can generate your own power and use more of it, day and night. Established in 2012, with over 15,000 energy-saving measures installed.
Simply put, if you installed solar panels for your home, they would capture the natural sunlight to create electricity to allow you to power your home. Each solar panel is roughly 1.7m by 1.1m and would be fitted to your pitched roof to benefit from unobstructed sunlight all day long.
Though solar panels will work best on south-facing roofs (as these benefit from sunlight all day long), there is still a benefit to be found in placing solar panels on roofs that face in other directions. Well over a million UK homes now have solar panels installed, and the ability to generate your own power will only become more desirable as electricity prices rise.
Eco Systems Group can supply and fit a range of improvements for your property to the highest standard. We have been improving homes and buildings since 2012, from insulation to solar panels and battery storage.

Generating your own electricity with solar panels brings real benefits over relying on the national grid alone.
Solar energy is clean and renewable. Generating your own electricity creates no emissions or noise, and reduces how much power you need from the grid. Good-quality solar panels typically keep working efficiently for 25 years or more, giving you a long-term source of green energy.
While generating your own energy your reliance on the national grid is weaker. If the grid is supplying you with less energy, then your electricity bills will begin to drop! You won’t be completely cut off – the national grid will still be there as a backup if you haven’t generated enough energy for what you need to use. Any extra electricity you export can earn you money through the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG), which requires an MCS-certified installation like ours.
Solar panels generate most during the day, when many households are out. A home battery stores that spare electricity so you can use it in the evening instead of buying it from the grid. We can fit a battery with new panels or add one to an existing system.
A well-installed solar PV system can be an attractive feature for prospective buyers, particularly because of its potential to reduce electricity costs. Any effect on a property’s value or how quickly it sells will depend on the individual property and local housing market.
Solar panels have no moving parts, so they need very little maintenance. Rain helps keep the glass clear, but an occasional clean and a periodic check of the panels, wiring and inverter will keep your system performing at its best. We also offer servicing and repairs for the life of your system.
At Eco Systems, we have been installing since 2012 across both residential and commercial projects. Our team have kept in touch with the latest energy-saving technologies and is happy to assist you in picking the right products for the needs of your home.
At installation, our expert installers will ensure that you’re left with the best solar panel technology; that has been safely and effectively fitted to your property.
All throughout this process, we can always help you make the most of your solar panels. Whether that be advice for the best energy provider to sell your excess energy back to, solar power generation in certain areas of the country, or any other question you may have.

Ideally, a south-facing roof would give you the most effective power generation for each solar panel. Solar panels generally produce the most energy when installed on a suitably oriented, unshaded roof. South-facing roofs often provide the highest annual generation in the UK, while east- and west-facing roofs can also perform well, although total generation may be lower depending on the roof pitch, shading, location and system design . This is because the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, meaning roofs facing in these two directions will only be effective for half of the day.
A suitably designed solar PV system can reduce the amount of electricity you need to buy from the grid. The level of reduction will vary by property, energy use and system design, and battery storage may further increase the amount of solar energy used within the home.
Absolutely! Solar panels work best when angled to receive the most sunlight. Therefore, the best solar panels are installed on south-facing pitched roofs already at this angle. However, since a flat roof technically doesn’t face any direction, a mounting system can be installed on the roof to tilt the panels. This ensures the perfect direction and angle is selected for your solar panels, as well as to prevent water damage from pooling rainwater.
Solar panels begin to show a return on your investment when they produce more energy than you’re using, or that you can store. Since the start of 2020, energy suppliers have been obligated by law to pay households for any energy they export back into the grid. This is known as the Smart Export Guarantee and since you don’t have to sell your excess energy to the same provider you get your current electricity supply from, it’s worth shopping around for the best rate per kWh of energy you produce.
The government are keen for homeowners to install energy-saving measures so have left legislation purposely lenient when it comes to installing solar panels. Solar panels come under a ‘permitted development’, meaning planning permission is not required for most UK domestic properties. As well as this, the installation of solar panels now comes under a 0% VAT tariff as of April 2022 – passing on yet more savings to you!
